Fun: Learn the violin in a friendly, pressure free and non-judgmental atmosphere. My philosophy is that learning an instrument should bring joy and enrichment to one's life, no matter whether the student is 5 or With Feeling: Learn the violin easier with a holistic approach using all your senses. I teach using my own method, developed through the experience in Alexander technique, Reiki and other healing arts, together with my background of formal classical violin training and 17 years of experience in teaching the violin. A
bit more about my method:
Over the years I found out that learning in small steps and making sure the understanding is on both,the mental and the physical level, brings ultimately the fastest progress. My other discovery is that the reason for problems when playing difficult passages is frequently a physical or mental blockage rather than lack of talent or practice on student's part. With these facts in mind I wrote my tutorial book "Violin Lessons with Fun and Feeling" in currently 2 volumes. Apart from many lovely pieces from all over the world covering various musical styles, it contains special exercises, games and tips to help the student achieve his/her goal. Playing the violin is extremely rewarding in many ways, but it will be hard work at times; commitment is essential. This includes attention in the lessons as well as regular practice at home. There is plenty of room to experiment and make mistakes as part of the learning. Instead of pressure I use encouragement and enthusiasm to teach and it always helps not to take yourself too seriously and see the positive side of things.
